County Competitions

The information regarding the fixtures listed below have been provided by Durham County Veteran Ladies Golf Assocaition (DCVLGA), Durham Golf Union (DGU), Lady Golf Captain's Society (Durham County) and Teesside Alliance.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the arrangements for the Bronze Championship (Greener Cup) being held at South Shields golf club on Thursday 8th October are as follows:-

The Appleby Bowl was won by Cassidy Hamilton from Bishop Auckland with a net 70.

The runner up was Millie Hixon from Rockcliffe with a net 71.

We have devised the following guidlines to help to keep you safe when you play in the Appleby Bowl. Please read them carefully and makw sure you comply.

Arrival:

Durham City Golf Club have confirmed that the clubhouse will be open to non-members for the Vine Trophy on Monday 10th August. When entering the clubhouse you will be asked for "Track and Trace" information and have your temperature checked.

We are very excited to have our first County Junior Competition of the year on Saturday 15th August at Houghton le Spring Golf Club. The competition is the Appleby Bowl.

A total of 71 teams entered the Vine Trophy this year and even with tee times running from 08:45 until 16:30 only 61 teams can fit into the draw. This is with teams going out in 7 and 8 minute intervals and allowing 2 "spare" slots to allow for any congestion on the course to ease.

I am very aware that it is difficult for clubs to co-ordinate entries for the County competitions this season. Therefore, as dates are confirmed I have put copies of the entry form and poster in the fixtures section of the website (these have also been sent to club secretaries).
