The Final of the May Lowery was held at South Moor Golf club today. The weather wasn't too bad when we arrived but gradually got worse as people went out to play. There was quite a thick mist at the top of the course and we almost had to abandon the competition. Fortunately it lifted and players could actually see where they were hitting their golf balls.
Despite the conditions the winners played very well with Christine Russell of Consett & District golf club winning the trophy with a net 74 from Nikki Dodds of Ravensworth with a net 77. Pauline Dobson of South Moor won the best gross prize going round in 80 shots. The full results can be found here.
