At the DCLGA AGM junior girls were present to receive various awards. Junior County Champion Millie Hixon (Wearside GC) was unable to attend to collect her trophy as she was away at England Golf coaching. Millie had two excellent rounds of 78 and 75 giving her a total of 153 which gave her a winning margin of 9 shots and became our champion for the second-year running. Wendy Mabbott handed over a cheque for £4,860 to the great North Air Ambulance at the AGM. This is a magnificent total for a very worthy cause. Many thanks to all the clubs and individuals who made donations and worked so hard on fundraising. Apparently the GNAA are currently trying to raise enough money to purchase 3 replacement helicopters for the 2 they have currently which will be able to fly at night (the current ones are only operational dawn to dusk).
