County Match Week 2026 - Day 2

Another damp morning I'm afraid but not quite such an early start for Durham today with our match against Cheshire.

Another tough day at the office for team Durham with the a hail storm in the middle of the match against Cheshire. There were some sunny intervals between the showers but sadly Durham lost 4-1.

The afternoon matches got off to a quiet start. However, there was thunder nearby which, as it got closer, turned into a hail shower with lightening. The players had to be called off the course whilst the greenkeepers worked really hard to clear the greens.

After a delay of about an hour, play resumed as all the team captains wanted to get the games finished. It was another tough match for Durham against Lancashire which we unfortunately lost 4-1.
