It is with great sadness that we let you know that we have been made aware that Pam Twinn (nee Dinning) has died. Pam joined Ryton as a junior with her mother, father and younger brother Guy; often accessing the then 9 hole course by crossing over the railway line rather than using the longer way round by road! The first meeting of the new DCLGA committee took place on Monday at Brancepeth Castle golf club. It is with sadness we announce the passing of Doris Cole aged 93. Doris was a much respected member of our golfing community, originally a member at Chester-le-Street Golf Club then following a relocation with her late husband Jim, joined Bishop Auckland Golf Club in 1986, serving twice as Ladies Captain. Wendy Mabbott handed over a cheque for £4,860 to the great North Air Ambulance at the AGM. This is a magnificent total for a very worthy cause. Many thanks to all the clubs and individuals who made donations and worked so hard on fundraising. Apparently the GNAA are currently trying to raise enough money to purchase 3 replacement helicopters for the 2 they have currently which will be able to fly at night (the current ones are only operational dawn to dusk).
