Boldon Nominated for England Golf Award
Boldon Ladies were nominated in the Women and Girls' Trailblazer category at the England Golf Awards, although they didn't win they had a fabulous time. Pam Twinn (nee Dinning)
It is with great sadness that we let you know that we have been made aware that Pam Twinn (nee Dinning) has died. Pam joined Ryton as a junior with her mother, father and younger brother Guy; often accessing the then 9 hole course by crossing over the railway line rather than using the longer way round by road! Her first successes in club competitions came in 1956 (winning the Calcutta Cup and Jubilee Vase), during which year she also won the Durham County Greener Cup and C

First Meeting of the New DCLGA Committee
The first meeting of the new DCLGA committee took place on Monday at Brancepeth Castle golf club. Whilst we were there, current Brancepeth Ladies Captain Jill Dickinson and Vice Captain Margaret Campbell (who takes over on Saturday) presented our new DCLGA Captain Marian Goodyear with a lovely bottle of wine called the Guv’nor in a beautiful presentation box made by Margaret. Doris Cole
It is with sadness we announce the passing of Doris Cole aged 93. Doris was a much respected member of our golfing community, originally a member at Chester-le-Street Golf Club then following a relocation with her late husband Jim, joined Bishop Auckland Golf Club in 1986, serving twice as Ladies Captain. Doris served as County Captain in 2008 and became a Vice President of DCLGA in 2011. We pass on sincere condolences to all family and friends. We have just heard from Doris

Charity Donation 2025
Wendy Mabbott handed over a cheque for £4,860 to the great North Air Ambulance at the AGM. This is a magnificent total for a very worthy cause. Many thanks to all the clubs and individuals who made donations and worked so hard on fundraising. Apparently the GNAA are currently trying to raise enough money to purchase 3 replacement helicopters for the 2 they have currently which will be able to fly at night (the current ones are only operational dawn to dusk).
