Charity Competition
A total of 21 teams competed for the Charity Trophy at Barnard Castle Golf Course. The weather was great and the day was enjoyed by all. The winning team, representing Headlam Hall and consisting of Carol Bradley, Hilary Heslop, Lyn Blewitt and Pippa Leech produced an excellent score of 57 points to claim victory. County Match Week 2026 - Day 3
The final day of County Match Week 2026 and Durham are playing Northumberland this morning. Another tough day for Durham but at least the sun was out for most of the morning. Unfortunately we lost to Northumberland 4-1. Another damp morning I'm afraid but not quite such an early start for Durham today with our match against Cheshire. Another tough day at the office for team Durham with the a hail storm in the middle of the match against Cheshire. There were some sunny intervals between the showers but sadly Durham lost 4-1. Vine Trophy
A total of 51 teams competed for the Vine Trophy at Durham City Golf Course. The winning team, representing Wickham and consisting of Wendy Robison, Julie Cornish, and Claire Watson, produced an excellent score of 87 points to claim victory. Northern Counties Match Week
Durham have the honour of hosting Northern Counties Match week this year. It is being held at Eaglescliffe golf club from Monday 8th June until Wednesday 10th June. Teams from the 6 Northern Counties will play each other during the 5 session (2 foursomes and 3 singles) with both the winners and second place going forward to the national final at Betchworth Park golf club on 28th - 31st July. Millie Hixon wins North England Women's Amateur Championship
Congratulations to Millie Hixon, member at Seaton Carew and at Wearside GC on winning the 2026 North England Women's Amateur Championship. Millie began the week with an excellent opening 70 at Goswick Golf Club before rounds of 74 and 71 at Seaton Carew which saw her finish level par across 54 holes earning her a five shot victory.

COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP
The County Championship was finally completed today with the final match between Ella Crang of Seaton Carew Golf Club and Kayla Hall of Durham City Golf Club. While warm sunshine had been expected, the players instead faced light drizzle throughout the round. Ella secured the title with a 3&2 victory on the 16th hole. FOUR-BALL BETTER BALL
Congratulations to Diane Clark and Christine Constable from Blackwell Grange, who won the Four-ball Better Ball at Darlington with an impressive score of 68. County Match Week Squad Announced
County Match Week is being held at Eaglescliffe this year from Sunday 7th June (practice round) until Wednesday 10th June. The team from Durham will be playing each of the other 5 Northern Division Counties over the 2.5 day event. The squad was announced today after the first two knockout rounds of the Championship had been completed (the semi-finals will be held tomorrow evening with the final on Thursday evening at Brancepeth).
