Another early start for the players with Jess Hall of Bishop Auckland playing Faye Wheatley of Whickham at 9am followed by Lucy Ashworth of Whickham playing Morgan Bailey of South Moor in the semi-finals of the championship.
Fortunately the weather was lovely and the course was in excellent condition.
Jessica and Lucy played in the final with both of them playing some lovely shots with the standard of golf very high.
Jessica's golf proved to be just too good and she was a worthy winner on her home course.
Many congratulations to Jessica on winning the DCLGA Championship for the 5th time - a great achievement.
Many thanks to Bishop Auckland golf club who made us feel so welcome and not only provided a course in wonderful condition but kept everyone fed and watered as well. In fact it was a great weekend for the club with Kathleen Hammerton winning the Greener Cup (Bronze Championship) as well. With County Captain Sue Wright presenting the prizes it was a case of the "Three Bishops" in the photo below.
