Durham Junior Girls narrowly loose to Northumberland

Durham Girls took on Northumberland at Bedlingtonshire Golf Club on Saturday 30 August 2025.

In cool cloudy conditions followed by heavy rain both teams played some exceptional golf with all matches being decided on the 16th, 17th and 18th holes. It was Northumberland who ran out winners 5.5 to 2.5 which meant they took back the Northumberland and Durham Junior Shield from Durham.

The Durham team consisted of Jess Dorritt, Scarlette Richardson, Caylin Million (Junior Captain), Morgan Bailey, Lilly Ann Phillips, Izzy Stokes, Sorcha Bond and Lisa Conboy Bryson.

A special mention goes to Caylin Million and Lisa Conboy Bryson winning their matches along with Jess Dorritt for halving her match.

A massive thanks to all the girls who were fantastic all day and it was such a pleasure to watch their golf.

Many thanks to Bedlingtonshire Golf Club who looked after us all day providing us with a fantastic course and excellent hospitality.

Lastly these matches could not go ahead without the support from all the parents and supporters plus our DCLGA Junior committee members, Marian Goodyear and Chris Pascall, a real big thank you to you all.
