Clement Semi Finals and Final took place at Bishop Auckland Golf Club with the girls taking part in Matchplay competition.

The girls had previously played in the Clement Qualifier with the 8 girls with the best nett scores going forward to a Matchplay knockout competition. The quarter finals were played at each of the top 4 qualifiers own club with the winners progressing to the semi-finals and final.

The first semi-final saw Daisy Allom of Tyneside GC take on Willow Hixon from Wearside which proved a very close match with Willow winning 2 up on the 18th.

The second semi-final featured Lilah Underdown (Blackwell Grange GC) and Erin West (Seaton Carew GC), in another exciting contest with Erin winning 3 and 2 on the 16th.

The final was another brilliant contest which saw both girls playing some exceptional golf.

At one point Erin was 5 down and she fought back to 1 down as the match headed up the 18th, unfortunately Erin’s second shot found the bunker which Willow capitalised by parring the hole to win 2up.

In the presentation that followed DCLGA President Christine Mair presented Willow with the Flo Clement Trophy.

In addition, Bishop Auckland GC Lady Captain, Sue Spence presented both players with goody bags which were very well received.

A massive thank you must go to all at Bishop Auckland GC who made us all so welcome throughout the day. Also, thanks to DCLGA officials, spectators, families and parents but most of all, the players who treated us to some excellent golf, such a credit to the County.
