Junior Championship

The 36-hole Championship and 18-hole stableford competition took place at Billingham Golf Club in conjunction with the Durham Golf Union Boys Championships. All the players had to endure some hot conditions but produced some scintillating golf.

Champion: Caylin Million (Chester le Street GC) – 78 – 77 = 155

Runner-Up: Jessica Dorritt (Consett GC) 84 – 73 = 157

Best Nett: Caylin Million (Chester le Street GC) 73– 72 = 145

18-Hole Stableford

Winner: Romilly Crabtree (Ramside GC) – 37

Runner Up: Erin Bell (South Moor GC) – 35

In addition, the first round of the Durham County Junior Girls Championship incorporated the Justin Rose / The Telegraph Junior Golf Championship. The best gross of 78 went to Caylin Million with the best nett of 72 going to Nixie Corcoran (Blackwell Grange GC). They were both presented with sleeves of golf balls as prizes. If their scores are in the top 6 of the national leaderboard they will win a trip to Quinta do Largo.

The successful day could not have happened without the hard work of many which include all at Billingham Club, all from Durham County Golf Union the course scorers / walkers Wendy Mabbott, Sue Wright, Jackie Price, Lesley Still, Bobby Griffiths, Christine Mair all the players and their families and supporters.
