Durham County Junior Girls Junior Captain’s Day Florida Scramble, Saturday 12 September 2026

The 18-hole Florida Scramble competition took place at Wearside Golf Club with all the players enjoying sunny and breezy conditions. The girls produced some excellent golf.

The successful day could not have happened without the hard work of the Junior Girls Captain, Emily Holgate her vice-captain, Scarlette Richardson along with Emily’s dad, mum and brother who organised such a brilliant day.

Leading up to the day and on the day the Holgate family sold raffle tickets in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust and at the last count around £300.00 had been raised. A big thank you to all who bought raffle tickets.

Further thanks went to all at Wearside Golf Club who made us all feel very welcome. Also thank you to the course walkers Ann Bowen, Christine Mair and Chris Pascall, all the players and their families and supporters.
