The second Junior Girls Coaching Assessment Day was held on Sunday 7 September at Sharpley Golf Club.
4 girls attended a one-hour session where they were assessed on their putting, long and short game
The most important aspect of the assessment session was to provide a relaxed and welcoming environment to give the girls the freedom to relax and enjoy the day, without the feeling of being put under pressure to perform.
During the session the girls and their parents had the opportunity to pose questions to the coaches and the feedback received from the girls and their parents after the sessions was extremely positive,
The coaches will now evaluate the session, and the girls will be offered places on a coaching group appropriate to their playing ability to further develop their skills.
A massive thank you goes to the coaches Mark Rayson and Steve Carpenter for all their hard work in ensuring all the girls had a productive session.
Also, thanks to Sharpley Golf Club for hosting the day and especially to Chris Pascall the Durham County Ladies Golf Association, Junior Coaching Organiser.
The future of girls’ golf in Durham is looking very bright.
