Storm Lilian made playing golf "interesting" today at South Moor. Players had to contend with a very gusty wind which although eased slightly throughout the day never really went away. This was reflected in the scores.
Heather Millburn of Consett & District won the May Lowery Final with a net 74 beating Gail Walton of Durham City who had a net 76. Jan Turner of Dinsdale won the best gross prize with a score of 89.
Many thanks to everyone at South Moor golf club who made us very welcome and presented the course in excellent condition and especially to the ladies section who as usual very kindly donated the first prize.
