Wearside player Millie Hixon took part in the Stephen Gallagher Foundation Fairmont St Andrews Girls Open. This was a World Amateur Golf Ranking event played over 3 days.
On the second day Millie went round in an amazing 66 shots to set a new course record.

Unfortunately her putter was not quite as hot on the final day, but she dug in hard and managed to hole a monster 100 foot putt on the final green to force a play-off with Hannah Ounap of Loudoun Golf Club, both players finishing on 8 under par over the three rounds.
Hannah managed a birdie on the second extra hole to beat Millie, but this did not take away the fantastic achievement of setting a course record at the home of golf.
