Durham County Junior Girls Clement Trophy Semi Finals and Final, Friday 15 August 2025

Clement Semi Finals and Final took place at Bishop Auckland Golf Club with the girls taking part in Matchplay competition.

The girls had previously played in the Clement Qualifier with the 8 girls with the best nett scores going forward to a Matchplay knockout competition. The quarter finals were played at each of the top 4 qualifiers own club with the winners progressing to the semi-finals and final.

The first semi-final saw an Eaglescliffe GC clash with Izzy Stokes getting the upper hand over Sorcha Bond.

The second semi-final proved a very close contest with Morgan Bailey (South Moor GC) finally beating Alice Atkinson (Durham City GC) on the 18th.

The final was another closely fought contest which saw each player taking the lead at various points during the match with both girls playing some exceptional golf.

Morgan went one up on the 16th and managed to hold the advantage on 17th with a half which she then repeated on the 18th to complete the victory with both players being left emotionally drained.

In the presentation that followed Sue Wright and Liz Bailey from Bishop Auckland GC were asked to present the Clement Trophy named after Flo Clement from Bishop Auckland GC who loved and inspired Durham County Junior Girls.
